Learn how to make various earrings for pierced and non-pierced ears. You will work with silver plated components to produce a collection of earrings, learning how to use tools correctly.

Kanzashi Flowers

Beautiful fabric flowers made with minimal sewing, using origami folding or gathering techniques. Originally used by Japanese Geisha girls to decorate their hair, they can also be used to decorate bags, shoes, home decor and jewellery.

Viking Knitting - Make a Bracelet

Viking Knitting - Make a Bracelet

Learn the basic techniques of Viking knitting and use them to produce a bracelet. The Vikings knitted with wire - who knew? You produce something wobbly and a little unkempt, then pass it through a draw plate and it turns into a swan. Very Hans Christian Andersen!

This technique produces a lovely stained window effect, similar to cloisonne work. An advanced technique - you will need experience of embossing pewter (see the Pewter Course if inexperienced). Two sessions: one to create your design and one to paint it.

An unusual and different way to create beautiful works of art. Coloured waxes are melted on an iron and applied in various ways to sealed paper. An art form for everyone - basic techniques are explained, then you can create to your heart's content.

A very easy way to make a lovely rose from paper - it turns out perfectly every time. By adapting the pattern you can make large and small blooms and leaves.

Cyanotypes on Paper

A photographic process producing beautiful one-off blue and white prints. Learn to produce cyanotypes using natural objects such as grasses, flowerheads and leaves, how to apply the photographic chemicals, and techniques for making the process your own. Not available in the winter months as it relies on the sun shining.

Learn to Make Jointed Teddy Bears

A six-week course where you will make three bears, each teaching a different skill. Learn how to cut out and make up your bears, set in child-safety eyes and joints, stuffing techniques, and how to adapt pattern pieces for a different looking bear.

Reading Crochet Charts

This course explains crochet chart symbols and how crochet charts work. We follow various charts so you become familiar with terminology and layout, with an opportunity to produce a simple chart of your own.
